1. Introduction

TraceIt is a home inventory and organization application designed to help users instantly locate their physical items and track expiration dates. Developed by razadeveloper, TraceIt follows a "Zero-UI" and privacy-first philosophy, operating entirely offline on your device without collecting, transmitting, or selling your personal data to external servers.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

TraceIt does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal identity information with the developer or any third parties. This includes:

  • Your name, email address (unless you contact support), or phone number
  • Real-time location data (GPS)
  • Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID)
  • Browser history or network traffic information
  • Financial records or payment methods

The app does not require account registration or cloud login, and we have no way of identifying who you are or what items you track.

3. Local Data Stored on Your Device

To provide its core functionality, TraceIt processes information you manually enter. This data is stored strictly in a local SQL database (Room) on your mobile device.

This includes:

  • Inventory Details: Item names and their specific physical locations (e.g., "Drawer 2").
  • Expiry Dates: Optional dates used to trigger local expiration alerts.
  • Timestamps: Automatically generated dates for sorting your inventory.
  • App Preferences: Your chosen theme (Light/Dark/System) and cache settings.

This data is never uploaded to a cloud. It is permanently deleted if you use the "Delete All Data" option in settings or uninstall the application.

4. Permissions

TraceIt requests minimal permissions to ensure functionality:

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used on Android 13 and above solely to notify you when an item in your inventory is about to expire.
  • SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Used to ensure expiry checks run reliably in the background.

TraceIt does not request access to your Camera, Microphone, Contacts, or Precise GPS Location.

5. Third-Party Services

TraceIt provides a clean, focused experience. The app does not use:

  • Advertising SDKs or tracking networks
  • External Analytics (such as Google Analytics or Firebase)
  • Third-party cloud synchronization
  • Social media logins

6. Children's Privacy

TraceIt is safe for all ages. Because the app operates entirely offline and does not collect any personal information, it is fully compliant with global privacy standards regarding children.

7. Data Security

Your inventory data is as secure as your device itself. Because your data is stored locally, it is protected by Android’s built-in "sandbox" environment, which prevents other apps from accessing TraceIt's database. We recommend using a secure screen lock (PIN/Biometric) on your device.

8. International Data Transfers

TraceIt does not perform any data transfers. Your information never leaves your physical device, meaning no international data processing occurs.

9. User Control

You maintain absolute control over your data:

  • Edit/Delete: You can modify or delete any item instantly via swipe or long-press.
  • Bulk Actions: The Settings screen provides options to "Delete Expired Items" or "Delete All Data."
  • Reset: Clearing the app cache or data in Android System Settings will wipe all stored inventory.
  • Removal: Uninstalling the app removes all data associated with TraceIt.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy if new features are added. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.
